Dr. Yvonne Marie Andrés, an e-learning visionary, is Founding Director of (non-profit) Global SchoolNet Foundation and creator of the Global Schoolhouse. Andrés designs, produces, and facilitates innovative programs that demonstrate the power of collaboration and blended learning to engage youth in activities that help their local community, while connecting them globally to benefit humanity. Having received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career, Andrés was named one of the 25 most influential people worldwide in education technology and launched “Friendship Through Education,” a U.S. State Department initiative designed in the wake of 9/11 to foster positive relationships between youth from different cultures. Andrés was awarded the Soroptimist International “Making a Difference Award” for advancing the status of women and children. Andrés authored "CyberFair: Opening the Doors to Collaboration" and "School and the Community: Collaboration in the Context of New Educational Standards.” Andrés was selected an ELearning! Champion for her exceptional contributions to education and was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame for her work as an internet pioneer, innovator and global connector.
