Moisés Barón
Dr. Barón, a psychologist and consultant with more than 36 years of clinical and administrative experience, is the immediate past President and CEO of the San Diego Center for Children. The Center provides the most comprehensive, all payer, continuum of nationally accredited therapeutic and educational services to children and families with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders in 9 locations throughout San Diego County. Dr. Barón is also Past-President of the California Alliance of Child and Family Services.
Prior to joining the Center, Dr. Barón served for 11 years as the first Assistant Vice President for Student Wellness at the University of San Diego and as Director of the Counseling Center from 1997 to 2006. Dr. Barón conceptualized and implemented a plan to restructure, expand and integrate health and wellness services, remodel facilities, and establish nationally accredited integrated clinical, preventive and educational programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
Dr. Barón was also Adjunct Faculty at the School of Leadership and Education Sciences for over 25 years and the Founder of the COMPASS Academic Center at USD where he led a team that developed multidisciplinary and innovative programs to help and support families of children with special needs.
In addition to his experience at USD, Dr. Barón also worked in private practice as a clinician and in different supervisory and leadership positions in community mental clinics and inpatient facilities in San Diego.
