Wendy McKinney

Interim Executive Director, Think Dignity

Wendy McKinney, a mission driven, nonprofit executive, wife, mother, speaker, co-pastor and author of BUSY DOING WHAT?, most recently served as the Interim Executive Director of Think Dignity, a homeless advocacy agency advancing dignity for those living on the streets. As the former Chief Development Officer for the American Red Cross, the San Diego History Center and Development Director for the Neighborhood House Association, she raised millions to benefit the San Diego region. As a dedicated volunteer and community connector she serves on several non-profit boards and committees including San Diego Rotary Club 33, Goodwill of San Diego, Just in Time for Foster, UCSD’s Community Advisory Board for the Black Women’s Alzheimer’s Study, to name a few. Wendy also currently spearheads the San Diego History Center’s Missing Pieces Project which is designed to launch the first, ever, digital exhibit showcasing San Diego’s African-American history.  Wendy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from UCLA and a Non-Profit Executive Leadership Certification from the University of Michigan.
