Nancy Maldonado

Chief DEI Officer, Rady Children’s Hospital

Nancy Maldonado is a visionary leader with expertise in nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Her significant contributions have been recognized with honors, such as the San Diego Business Journal "Business Woman of the Year" and the prestigious Libby Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership from the Nonprofit Institute.

Nancy holds a Master of Science in Exercise Science and was named a Hispanic Center of Excellence Scholar. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership Studies at the University of San Diego, where she earned the Dean's Excellence Scholarship Award.

In her role as Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Rady Children's Hospital, Nancy is a driving force in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across the health system. Her strategic direction and institutional vision ensure that Rady Children's remains a leader in equity for employees, patients, families, and the communities served.

Nancy also serves on the board of directors of numerous nonprofits that span sectors such as education, sports, arts and culture, and trauma-informed support for survivors of relationship and sexual violence.
