Abbey Hemmi

My name is Abbey Hemmi and I attend Point Loma High school. Born and raised in San Diego, I’ve seen the decline and resolve in the city’s issues from the unhoused to dirty beaches. Being an Aaron Price Fellow, I’ve gotten the opportunity to explore and delve into these conflicts in our community in hopes of improving the overall quality of life here in San Diego. I cannot stress enough how much my life and the lives of my peers, friends and family revolve around the state of our city. It not only breaks my heart to see emergency responders having to sacrifice equipment and people’s jobs due to budget, but it also heavily affects the community’s safety. I believe a donation to our community’s most vulnerable problems will greatly increase the productivity of San Diego and have a lasting impact on people living in the beautiful city we call home.
