Tinesia Conwright
Tinesia Conwright is a dedicated community leader and Nonprofit Executive, committed to empowering girls of color through leadership development and career advancement. Growing up in Southeastern San Diego during a time of gang violence and limited opportunities, she found solace in a youth dance group, which ignited her passion for social change. This experience inspired her to launch DETOUR, an organization that has empowered over 2,000 girls through programs like the FANCY Leadership Academy and Teen Girls Expo. Tinesia holds degrees from San Diego State University and the University of San Diego and has earned numerous accolades for her work, including awards from the San Diego LGBT Pride, Mental Health America, and the National Council of Negro Women. She is a 2021 Graduate of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network with the Center for Creative Leadership and a 2019 Graduate of the RISE San Diego Urban Leadership Program. She is also the author of Find Your Flair, a guide for youth to discover their leadership potential. Tinesia continues to advocate for girls’ rights and strives to foster future leaders within her community.
