Adriana Loson-Ceballos

Co-Founder, Colmena-Consulting

I’m Adriana Loson-Ceballos, PhD, and I co-founded Colmena-Consulting, a radical cooperative for change-makers with marginalized identities and social justice values. As a consultant, I focus on advancing equity through collective learning, strategy, and storytelling. My approach centers on participatory evaluations, community-based research, and collaborative resource mobilization, ensuring that philanthropic resources align with the needs and values of the communities we serve.

In 2024, I published "In Abundance: An Analysis of the Thriving Landscape of Collective Giving in the U.S." with the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Philanthropy Together, highlighting how collective giving strengthens communities. This work builds on my 2022 dissertation, "Understanding the Benefits of Latino Giving Circles: An Emancipatory Research Study," which explored how Latino collective giving fosters social change and wellness.

I serve on the boards of the Women’s Funding Network and Social Venture Partners International, supporting efforts to disrupt traditional philanthropy.
